Robert Davidson co-founded DGLF CPAs & Business Advisors in 1987 (formerly Davidson Golden Lundy & Forehand) as an accounting and consulting firm primarily serving the construction industry. Robert’s leadership and 40 years of experience made DGLF one of the most respected firms in the industry. The firm provided services to more than 300 construction industry entities in 28 states and assisted in over 750 construction industry merger and acquisition transactions. DGLF merged with Marcum LLP in December, 2015.

As planned after the merger with Marcum, Robert transitioned from the CPA firm practice to form Davidson Consulting to provide full-time consulting services to contractors. His services include litigation support, claims cost documentation, cost plus contract review, continuity planning, merger and acquisition services, work-out analysis, meeting facilitation, strategic planning, and related consulting.

Throughout his career, Robert has built a reputation as an exceptional teacher and speaker at construction industry seminars. He has presented sessions for CPA associations and many national construction industry organizations, including the Associated General Contractors, the Construction Financial Management Association, the American Road Builders Association, The National Surety Bond Producers Association, The National Association of State Contractor Licensing Boards and the Design Build Institute of America. Robert has presented numerous training seminars to sureties and lending institutions such as Zurich, Travelers, Liberty, Willis, Caterpillar Finance and others.

Robert authored an eight-hour construction accounting and tax seminar that he has presented to sureties, banks, state CPA societies and construction organizations in all 50 states. He has been the recipient of the Outstanding Discussion Leader Award for numerous CPA Societies and Organizations, including Alabama, Florida, Virginia, Wyoming and Tennessee.

Robert served on the Board of the AICPA National Construction Committee for 12 years, including 3 years as Chairman. Robert has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Construction Accounting and Taxation and has been published more than 20 times by various national construction industry magazines. He was inducted as a member of the prestigious Beavers construction group in 2002. He is active in several accounting organizations and also has served on committees and/or boards of various construction organizations, including the AGC, CFMA, TRBA and ABC. Robert was recently named one of "Nashville's Finest CPAs" by the Nashville Post and one of "Nashville's Accounting Power Leaders" by the Nashville Business Journal.

Robert was appointed by the Governor to four terms (12 years) on the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. Robert currently serves as Treasurer for Nashville’s U.S. Congressman, Jim Cooper.
